Your NYC Beat is very cool. I have a couple of questions.
What program did you use?
Where do you get the different song element?. Do you separate them yourself?
Being an amateur, I unashamedly use MixMeister… I’m working getting used to Traktor, but haven’t had the time to make the move.
Basically, I download hundreds of MP3’s from Demonoid.me every month, listen to them all, organize the ones that I like, and go from there. I usually start with 30-40 songs in a mix and weed it down to 15-20 songs that end up mixing well together. On occasion, I am required to splice and tweak some of the intros / outros to make the mixes sound good. Other than that, I use the original remixes and just put them together in such a way that sounds rad.
